NOJA Power OSM Reclosers installed in Moldovan Distribution Network
Australian switchgear engineering firm NOJA Power today confirm the installation of their 38 kV OSM Recloser switchgear product in Moldova. This OSM Recloser installation supports ongoing efforts to modernise the electricity distribution grid in Moldova, as the nation works towards their renewable energy targets.
NOJA Power exports their Australian designed and built OSM Reclosers to over 105 countries worldwide.
The 38 kV OSM Recloser system is a common upgrade option for nations with legacy Soviet era 35 kV standards. This OSM Recloser system can often be deployed in the same mounting location as the retired switchgear, maximising the use of existing infrastructure and simplifying the installation.
NOJA Power’s OSM Recloser system is supplied with the RC series Recloser control. The recloser control provides the protection, control and automation required to operate the grid. The RC series control also includes remote control capabilities and power quality monitoring features which are essential for operation of a electricity grids with higher penetration of renewable energy or distributed generation sources.
“Our products are equally at home in substation applications like this as well as the more traditional pole mount application,” says NOJA Power Group Managing Director Neil O'Sullivan.
The OSM Recloser technology deployed in Moldova benefits from leading engineering work that NOJA Power completed in renewable energy integration in Australia. The NOJA Power Synchrophasor project used OSM Reclosers with RC series control to gather high resolution network data to improve the safety and reliability of renewable integration in the modern distribution network. This technology is now available to all users of the OSM Recloser product, providing support towards a stable future distribution grid in the renewable energy future.
